It's such an honout to be able to see Azzedine Alaïa's creations up close and personal. Highly secretive and media-shy designer (a legend, I can say), made rare public appearance on his exhibition titled Azzedine Alaia In The 21st Century, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

After the succesful show of Azzedine Alaia in the 21st Century at Groninger Museum in 2012, the iconic exhibition travels to Düsseldorf for another take on the the couturier's spectacular work from the last ten years.

Of course, words are not enough to describe Alaïa's work; we all know that seeing, touching, feeling but most of all, wearing one of his fashion creations can be an almost orgasmic situation. Each part of the exhibition focuses on a different material from Alaia's creative universe: velvet, fur, wool, leather, cotton, animal skins, chiffon and knitwear.

Azzedine Alaia in the 21st Century is followed by a 224-page edition of the same title in English.

Running until September 8, 2013 at NRW-Forum Düsseldorf.

Signorefandi, amazing Alaïa...
