Body conscious. Located at the beautiful Le Bristol Hotel, Didit Hediprasetyo tried to express the woman's silhouette by creating body wrapping evening dresses (with one or two exception; the leather cape coat and goddess-style gown), embracing the curves and contour. Didit's collection each season is always pointed to one primary colour, and this season he picked blue (navy, ocean, velvety) as contrast with the set, and played with some appliqué and embelishments on arms, leather (is that ostrich?), creating sleek and simple look with intricate details--lace and sequins. His creativity (or strategy?) to make wearable collection is something I always adore. Women this days still want something exquisite, but without feeling of wearing too much and too crowded. His collection is luxe dinner ready-to-go or even red carpet ready-to-pose (of course without the baseball hat, even though it's heavily embellished). Not much alteration needed, as the dresses already create an elegant look and flaunt women's body shape.
He knows how to make a good body even look better.
